Meihoku Atelier Walk
— Meet the Makers, Feel the Satoyama
It's about a 1-hour drive from Kyoto city center.
Surrounded by lush forests and rural landscapes, Keihoku is dotted with artists and workshops dedicated to craftsmanship, including woodworking, pottery, dyeing and weaving, metalworking, and art.

Keihoku Atelier Tour is an open atelier event where you can actually visit the ateliers of Keihoku, hear directly from the artists themselves, and experience the background and lifestyle behind the creation of their works.
This event, which was held until 2019, will be relaunched in a new form in the spring of 2026, after a seven-year hiatus.

We want you to not only see the artwork, but also feel the atmosphere of the creative process, speak directly with the artists, and spend a memorable time amidst the scenery of Keihoku. These two days are not just sightseeing or an exhibition; the act of "visiting" itself becomes an experience.
