The "Hydrangea Festival" will be held at the "Kahoen" garden of "Hosenji Temple" in Keihoku, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City.
Hosenji Temple has recently become a popular spot known as the "Temple of Flowers," and was recently featured on NHK World.

A breathtaking scale
Hanahoen, a garden created by clearing the hillside behind the temple, is home to approximately 1 hydrangea plants of 11 different varieties, and during the rainy season, the entire hillside is covered in a profusion of lovely, large blossoms.



Limited edition commemorative items and merchandise
During the event, a special limited-edition "Goshuin (temple stamp)" (500 yen) will be available, and a limited quantity of "Sansho Miso" made using Hosenji Temple's secret recipe will be sold (while supplies last).
A location where you can be soothed by the nature of the countryside.
Away from the hustle and bustle of central Kyoto, you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere unique to Keihoku, surrounded by nature on three sides, and leisurely appreciate the contrast between the beautiful green rural landscape and the hydrangeas.

Access
By car: Approximately 1 hour from central Kyoto via National Route 162 (Shuzan Kaido) heading north from Fukuoji Intersection.
For public transport:
From Kyoto Station, Nijo Station, etc., take the JR West Japan Bus (bound for Shuzan) and get off at the last stop, "Shuzan". From there, transfer to the "Keihoku Furusato Bus (Utsu Line)" and get off at the "Minamimachi" bus stop, then walk for about 5 minutes.
*Please note that the Furusato Bus operates very infrequently, so be sure to check the timetable carefully before you go.

Take a drive during the rainy season and visit this new spot that will add color to Keihoku in early summer.
