There are dozens of settlements in Keihoku, and in the past, on August 16th, a platform would be erected in the square of each settlement and Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dance) would be held.
Historically, an unimaginable number of people would gather, and men and women of all ages, dressed in yukata (summer kimonos), would dance in a large circle to the music sung by the lead singer from atop a tower.

The Bon Odori dance in Keihoku has a long history, and the Bon Odori dances that have been passed down in each region are an integral part of Keihoku's culture and an essential part of summer festivals. To ensure that these Bon Odori dances are passed down, we will be holding the "Keihoku Bon Odori Festa" again this year.

Keihoku Bon Odori Festival: Let's pass on Keihoku's traditional culture to the future!

Target audience: Adults and children alike!
Participation is free, and dress code is casual.

Adults and children alike! Anyone is welcome to join the circle and dance.
You don't have to wear a yukata; you can dance in any attire you like.

The opening act was a taiko drum performance by local taiko drumming group, Yushin Hiro & U-kids!

At the Keihoku Bon Odori Festival,"Joruri Kuzushi"Is said to be"Tanba Ondo"Including"Shuzan Ondo","Yuge Ondo","Yamaguni Ondo","Utsu no Sato Ondo"They dance to folk songs that describe the scenery and characteristics of each area in Keihoku.
Every year, when the third-grade students from Kyoto Keihoku Elementary and Junior High School sing the folk song in their lovely voices, everyone smiles and a very warm atmosphere prevails.

General participants are also welcome!

We welcome not only people from Keihoku, but also people from outside Keihoku and first-time visitors. Please invite your family and friends and we look forward to seeing you there.
Of course, solo participants are also welcome. We will provide "uchiwa" fans for participants.
On the day of the Bon Odori Festival, dress code is optional and everyone is welcome to join in.
It's okay if you don't know the ondo song; it's amazing how just by looking at the person in front of you and going around in a circle, you'll be able to dance.

●Fun lottery
Prize draw tickets (300 winners) will be distributed at the reception. The first 100 people will receive a prize draw ticket with an increased chance of winning.
●In addition to drinking water for hydration, please bring a bag for your shoes and a fan. If you do not have a fan, please let the reception know.
●Parking: Please use the Keihoku Joint Government Building parking lot or the Keihoku Elementary and Junior High School parking lot.

●We will also be holding a trial session (Bon Odori practice), so please come and join us.
