Joshoji Temple, known as a temple associated with the Imperial family, is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring, but in the fall, the autumn leaves planted throughout the gardens and grounds stand out against the green of the surrounding cedar trees, creating a striking contrast of vibrant colors.
Hiyoshi Shrine, nestled in the countryside, has beautiful autumn foliage along the approach, and you can see a completely different view of the leaves than at Joshoukō-ji Temple. This is a course that lets you experience autumn in Keihoku while touring the area.

    Joshokoji is a temple related to the imperial family, which was opened in the first year of Joji (1362) by Emperor Kogon and was devoted to successive emperors.
    During the fall foliage season, the foliage planted in the garden and in various parts of the precincts shines in the green of the surrounding cedar grove, and you can see the contrast of vivid colors.
    In addition, the view of the conservation area from the Sanryo Bridge over the Oigawa River (Katsura River) that flows in front of the temple gate has wonderful changes in the four seasons, and together with the gentle mountain scenery, it is suitable to be called Daiyuzan of the mountain number.

    It is a submerged bridge over the Kamikatsu River near Yamakuni Shrine.
    It is a narrow concrete bridge with no handrails and barely enough space for cars to pass through, but it has a strong presence. It is a sturdy bridge that will not be washed away even when the river floods.
    The area near this bridge is a mecca for ayu fishing in the summer, but in autumn, Japanese pampas grass sways in the wind on the riverbank.

    Hiyoshi Shrine is a shrine with beautiful autumn leaves on the approach to the shrine when you visit it in late autumn.
    Founded in the Heian period.The shrine is located in the back of a small valley, and the approach to the shrine is an unpaved road with a gentle slope, and there is a parking space next to the precincts.
    The Dengaku dance, which has been designated a prefectural cultural asset, is performed in the worship hall and is a very vigorous dance.
    The old zelkova tree that stands near the main shrine is said to be XNUMX years old and has been designated as a natural monument of the city.
