It is located at the foot of the satoyama that entered the Sakuma Pass from Yamakuni Shrine, which is known for the Yamakuni corps that marches at the beginning of the Jidai Matsuri.It is a village temple where cherry blossoms welcome you on the approach to the stone steps leading to the precincts.
The founding is unknown, and it was rebuilt as Sanmyoin Temple in XNUMX at the site of Gokuraku-ji Temple, which was burnt down in the Genko War (XNUMX-XNUMX) when the Kamakura Shogunate collapsed and suffered fire during the Warring States period.


In addition, along the Sanmyoin River that runs near Sanmyoin, a row of cherry blossom trees is being maintained.
