Although it is a quiet and small temple, the cherry blossoms in full bloom in the garden are breathtaking. The cherry blossoms bloom a little later than the center of Kyoto city, and will reach full bloom around mid-April.

In the precincts, many cherry blossoms bloom every year, such as the 50-year-old Yae Beni weeping and the Omuro cherry blossoms transplanted from the world heritage Ninnaji Temple. The large Yae Beni weeping is nicknamed "Heian weeping cherry tree" and "Kannon cherry tree". In the fall of 2018, a project to build "200 Sakura Park" on the mountain behind Hosenji Temple will start, and it will become a famous place for cherry blossoms in the future. The "Sakura Festival" is held around mid-April every year.During the period, there will be a "Manpuku Bazaar" that sells local vegetables, zenzai, oden, cherry sushi, kusa mochi, etc., and a sutra-copying experience (offering fee 4 yen).

The back mountain, which used to be a mountain of cedars and cypresses, has now been transformed into a garden of the four seasons, Kahoen.
I was reborn.
A project started a few years ago to fill the back hill with flowers has come to fruition.
Because of the desire to nurture the flowers as treasures and the fact that it is located on the mountain behind Mt.
It is said that it was named Kahoen with one letter from the mountain name of the temple and the name of the temple.
In the park, cherry blossoms (a kind of wild cherry tree Sendai), hydrangeas (1), and Acer palmatum (500) are planted.
It looks like it will be a fun spot in the future.
