Yamaguni Shrine

On the occasion of the relocation of the capital to Heian, the timber built by the Gosho was collected from the mountainous town, and this town was designated as the Goryōsho land (the place where the wood was cut out), and the main shrine was built during the Houki period (770-780).

During the reproduction of Tottori Castle Giboshi Bridge, a march of the mountain corps was held.

It is a company where the government army "Yamakokutai" vowed to go out during the Meiji Restoration, and every year in mid-October, the annual festival "Return Festival" is crowded with the procession of the Meiji Restoration Oyamakokutai.

 山国隊の行進は戊辰戦争の折、山陰道鎮撫総督・西園寺公望の檄文に呼応した山国の郷士83名が因幡(鳥取)藩に附属して参戦し、農兵隊ながらも慶応4年(1868年)11月25日、錦の御旗を守護し京都へ凱旋した故事にちなむもので、明治28年(1895年)の第一回時代祭行列に参加、明治30年(1897年)から大正6年(1917年)まで時代祭行列の先導を務めました。

March in Kyoto Gyoen

At the Jidai Matsuri in 150, the 150th anniversary of the Meiji Restoration and the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Yamakokutai, the dedication of the drum and fife performance was held for the first time in 101 years at the Anzaisho Festival held in Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.
