Orai Kurodaya (countryside convenience store)

It is the only store in the Kuroda area that handles daily necessities and food.
It opened in 2000 (Heisei 12) with the Kuroda Neighborhood Association and local residents funding each other in response to the voices of residents who want a store where they can do a little shopping in an area where depopulation and aging are progressing.

We sell everything from daily necessities to clothing, mainly groceries.

We also sell freshly picked vegetables and fruits made by local farmers, as well as clear stream rice.

・ Tourist information center in Kuroda area
There is also a coffee shop inside the store, which also serves as a tourist information center that introduces local attractions and the headwaters of the Katanami River.

・ Information guide application is being accepted
In order to enter the "Katanami River Headwaters Fushigata Daisugi Community", which is said to be 1000 years old, you need to apply in advance and be accompanied by a designated guide.
Please apply at our shop.

There is a photo gallery of XNUMX-year-old cherry blossoms on the wall of the cafe corner.

Nostalgic Ichimaki

From mid-June to mid-July, we also sell handmade rice dumplings. (Reservation required)
Recently, there is no "chimaki bamboo grass" in the mountains due to animal damage, and it is difficult to make it at home because it is difficult to obtain, so I decided to make it at Orai Kurodaya. It is a proud product that was completed after trial and error using glutinous rice and rice from Kuroda.

When the bride returns with a bush after planting rice, her mother-in-law gives it as a souvenir.
"Old-fashioned chimaki" It is a gentle taste that you want to eat while thinking about your nostalgic hometown and your mother. It's even more delicious if you sprinkle it with sugar and eat it!

The website is also in operation, and in addition to information on the blooming of XNUMX-year-old cherry blossoms and events, information on emigration and settlement is also posted, so please have a look.
